Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Avecta (avecta.id) collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we don't run ads, we never sell your data, and we never use your work to train AI.

1. What we collect

• Account data — name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text) when you register.
• Guest upload email (optional) — if you upload without an account, you may leave an email address so you can claim the upload later. Leaving it is entirely optional; uploads work without it.
• Your uploads and what we make from them — the SVG or photo you upload, the options you chose, and the generated artifacts (animation video and thumbnail for a reanimation; the traced SVG for a vectorization).
• Billing data — if you buy a paid plan, we keep a record of your plan, its status, and the dates it applies. Payment details (such as card numbers) are handled by our third-party payment provider, not by us — we never see or store them.
• Technical data — session cookies and standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service, including enforcing per-account and per-visitor usage limits.

2. How we use it

• to render your uploads into animations and vector SVGs, and to show finished reanimations in the public gallery;
• to attribute uploads to your account, including claiming past anonymous uploads made with your email when you register with it;
• to operate your plan and its usage limits, and to process paid subscriptions through our payment provider;
• to keep you signed in and to protect the service from abuse;
• to respond when you contact us.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it. For site analytics we currently use Umami, a privacy-focused tool we run ourselves on our own infrastructure — it doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites; it only tells us aggregate things like which pages get visited and where traffic comes from. If we ever move to an analytics tool that does set cookies, it will be switched off until you consent to it — see section 5.

3. AI and automated processing

Your videos are not generated by AI. Animations are produced by a conventional rendering algorithm, and photo tracing is done by a conventional vectorization algorithm. The only machine-learning model anywhere in the service is optional: on the Vectorize tool you may enable object-by-object drawing, which runs a small image-segmentation model to group a photo's shapes by object. That model runs locally on our own servers.

We never send your images, uploads, or generated artifacts to any third-party AI service, and we never use your content — or anything derived from it — to train, fine-tune, or improve any machine-learning model, ours or anyone else's.

4. What is public

Finished reanimations — the video, its thumbnail, and the original filename — are publicly visible in the gallery, attributed to your account name or shown as anonymous. SVGs you create with the Vectorize tool are private to you and are not published. Your email address and billing data are never shown publicly.

5. Cookies

Today Avecta uses only first-party cookies required for the service to work: a session cookie (sign-in state and security) and a CSRF token. Our analytics (Umami) is cookieless too. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you don't see a cookie banner — there is nothing optional to agree to.

Should we ever add a cookie that isn't strictly necessary, it will not be set until you have said yes: you'll get a notice letting you accept everything, keep to essentials only, or choose category by category, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time. The Cookie Policy always lists every cookie currently in use, what it does, and how long it lasts.

6. Sharing

Your data lives on infrastructure we operate. We share it only with the service providers needed to run Avecta — currently our payment provider, for processing paid plans — and where the law requires us to. We do not share it with anyone else.

7. Retention

Finished videos are kept for the retention window of the uploader's plan and may be deleted automatically once that window passes; higher tiers keep videos longer, and the top tier keeps them indefinitely. You can also ask us to remove any content sooner. Account and billing data are kept while your account exists and for as long as the law requires afterwards. Server logs are rotated on a short schedule.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you — including removing uploads and their generated artifacts, or deleting your account entirely. Email hello@avecta.id and we will act on the request within a reasonable time.

9. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will announce it on the site. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
